Mobilus Completes Second ART Proof of Concept in Putrajaya in Collaboration with Perbadanan Putrajaya, MIROS, and the Ministry of Transport

In 2024, Mobilus Sdn Bhd successfully completed its second Proof of Concept (POC) for the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) system, this time in Putrajaya, following the earlier POC conducted in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor in collaboration with IRDA (Iskandar Regional Development Authority).

Held in partnership with Perbadanan Putrajaya and the Malaysian Institute of Road Safety Research (MIROS), and conducted under the guidance and support of the Ministry of Transport Malaysia, this initiative represents a continued effort to explore and validate advanced mobility solutions for Malaysian cities.

The ART system was first introduced to the public during the Putrajaya Open Day in February 2024, followed by the live demonstration phase, which ran from June to 31 August 2024 (Merdeka Day).

More than just a showcase, the Putrajaya POC served a deeper strategic purpose—to further analyze the operational suitability of ART in the context of Malaysia’s unique road environment, which includes mixed traffic conditions, diverse road user behavior, and variable infrastructure standards. Through this real-world testing, critical data was collected on system integration, safety, traffic interaction, commuter experience, and regulatory alignment.

The ART system—powered by clean electric propulsion and guided by virtual tracks—offers a cost-effective and scalable alternative to traditional rail systems, making it an attractive solution for growing urban centers looking to improve public transport without the need for heavy infrastructure investments.

Mobilus is proud to have collaborated closely with national stakeholders on this initiative, and expresses its sincere appreciation to Perbadanan Putrajaya, MIROS, and the Ministry of Transport for their support and shared commitment to advancing Malaysia’s smart and sustainable mobility agenda.

This successful POC marks another step forward in the journey toward next-generation, low-carbon public transport solutions that meet the needs of both today’s and tomorrow’s cities.
